Kisii Cultural Workshops - Second Edition
Objectives
The second Kisii edition was designed as a follow-up: return to schools, keep cultural learning active, and focus support priorities around the most common barriers to learning.
What Happened
On 18-19 September 2025, the team engaged Motonto, Entanda, Tambacha, and Mosocho primary schools. Sessions included Russian greetings, learner interaction, staff meetings, school tours, and discussions on welfare and development needs.
Key Moments
The programme reached 2,195 learners across schools where many children lack birth certificates, feeding programmes are incomplete or absent, and classrooms, sanitation, ICT, uniforms, and games equipment remain under pressure.
Why It Mattered
The follow-up shifted the story from discovery to advocacy. Birth-certificate drives, kitchen gardens, meal support, sanitation repair, uniforms, and games equipment are practical interventions that can unlock better attendance and funding.
