ICS Technical College Tournament & Russian Language Launch
What Happened
On 4 July 2026, Path to Russia partnered with ICS Technical College to host an inter-campus football tournament bringing together students and staff from the Nairobi, Thika and Malaa campuses. The day combined healthy competition with an institutional milestone: the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations.
The programme ran from an opening ceremony through men's and women's matches, a friendly staff-versus-students game, and closed with an awards ceremony and speeches from institutional leaders.
Tournament Results
In the men's bracket, Nairobi took first place, with Malaa second and Thika third. In the women's bracket, Nairobi finished first and Malaa second. Winning teams were presented with trophies and cash awards in front of students, staff and guests from across all three campuses.
Signing the MoU
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Charity Mueni, Chairperson of Path to Russia, and Erick Ochieng, Coordinator, on behalf of Path to Russia, alongside Michael Nyamweya, Senior Principal, and Judith Musyoka, Director, on behalf of ICS Technical College.
The partnership launches a free three-month online Introduction to Russian Language Programme, taught by native Russian-speaking instructors and open to students across ICS Technical College's campuses.
Why It Matters
The tournament gave students a reason to gather across campuses, but the MoU is what makes the day last. Kenyan students now have a direct, no-cost route into Russian language study — the kind of structured, ongoing access that turns a single event into an open door for international education and cultural exchange.
Path to Russia is looking to expand the model to additional campuses and make inter-campus sports exchange an annual fixture.
