Football Mums Community Tournament - Kibera 2026

Objectives

The Football Mums tournament was organized to create exposure and opportunity for underprivileged women and young mothers through structured sport.

What Happened

On 29 March 2026, Path to Russia and Kibera Girls Soccer Academy hosted the tournament at DC Grounds in Kibera. Fifty-six participants, aged 18 to 30, played across five teams.

Key Moments

The event created a meaningful platform for young women and girls from Kibera to compete, be seen, and build confidence. Guests and partners recognized the importance of women's involvement in sport and community life.

Why It Mattered

The tournament strengthened a model that can grow: more teams, stronger sponsorship, broader partnerships, and more opportunities for women whose leadership often begins in community spaces before it is recognized elsewhere.
