Athi River Women's Community Tournament 2025

Objectives

The Athi River tournament was dedicated to women and girls, using sport to promote confidence, unity, cultural exchange, and active community participation.

What Happened

On 30 October 2025, Path to Russia organized the tournament at Portlands Play Field in Athi River. More than 70 women played, while over 130 women supported coordination, logistics, catering, hospitality, and officiating.

Key Moments

The Deputy County Commissioner attended, and Athi River Secondary School supported safe transport by providing a bus. The Super Women team won both the football and volleyball categories, turning the day into a public celebration of women's strength and teamwork.

Why It Mattered

The tournament created a visible space where women were not only players, but organizers, leaders, and community builders. It also amplified the message that sport can support dignity, confidence, and shared purpose.
