Ngenyilel TVET Russian Language Programme Launch
Objectives
The Ngenyilel launch aimed to open a new pathway from technical education in Uasin Gishu to Russian language study, higher education, and future employment-linked IT training.
What Happened
On 21 November 2025, Path to Russia hosted Moscow Polytechnic University delegates, local partners Betty and Joe Sang, and institutional leaders. The day included a cultural welcome in Iten and the official launch at Ngenyilel TVET with Kalenjin songs and dances.
Key Moments
Anna Semenova and Principal Erick Kibet Cheruiyot signed an MoU for the nine-month Russian language course starting 19 January 2026. Hon. Janet Jepkemboi announced sponsorship for ten students, while Betty Sang enrolled ten members of her staff and family network.
Why It Mattered
The launch connected language, technical education, and future employment. A dedicated Russian classroom has already been prepared, and the announced IT course with Moscow Polytechnic points toward a deeper Kenya-Russia education partnership.
